Tiger Holds On To Win WGC On Fourth Playoff Hole
Tiger extended his playoff record to 10-1 scraping through a lackluster final round performance to win the 2006 WGC Bridgestone Invitational on the fourth hole of the playoff against Stewart Cink.

Matching par, par, bogey, and hitting his final approach shot during a cloudburst, Tiger put the pressure on Cink by hitting it to seven feet. Cink, also hitting during the cloudburst, landed in the bunker that fronts the green. Cink's third shot was inside Tiger's second, and Tiger hunkered down to sink his putt and win the tourney, making it four consecutive wins.

Stewart Cink Takes the Lead from Tiger at Firestone
In an extreme rarity, Tiger Woods bogeyed four holes in a row on the front nine to lose the lead at the 2006 WGC Bridgestone Invitational. Tiger just didn't have it today—he IS human after all—and ended the day at one-over, tied for second, one shot back, with Davis Love III and Paul Casey.

Jim Furyk holds the next spot after shooting a solid one-under, followed by Lucas Glover. Ernie Els, Kevin Stadler, and Adam Scott had unremarkable days and are tied for seventh heading into the final round, four shots back.

History has shown that Tiger knows how to step up his game, and one can only expect that tomorrow's final round will be a great one. Will Tiger make it four in a row? Can he come back from a shot down to take the title? Tune in tomorrow and find out.

Tiger Goes For Four In A Row
Since missing the cut back in June, Tiger has played his tourneys in 80 strokes under par. Solid play in the second round found him one stroke ahead of Davis Love III going in to the weekend. Davis, who just found out he wasn't going to be on Tom Lehman's Ryder Cup team, came out and played some amazing golf - which may have Tom considering his decision.

Again Tiger Woods holds the lead going into the weekend—a position he's never lost from. Should he win again at Firestone, he will have won four consecutive tournaments in a row.

2006 World Golf Championships Bridgestone Invitational Begins at Firestone Country Club in Akron, OH
Adam Scott birdied seven holes on the front nine for a 29, and followed them up with a 34 on the back to take the lead in the first round of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational with a score of seven under.

Jason Gore and Lucas Glover finished two and three shots back, respectively. Behind them were the likes of Davis Love III, Tiger Woods, Luke Donald, David Howell, Michael Campbell, and David Toms, who all finished at three under.

Tiger makes it 12! Becomes the Champion at Medinah, again.
Winning his second major since the passing of his best friend and father in May, Tiger Woods just won the 2006 PGA Tournament by a wide margin. Luke Donald, tied with Tiger at the beginning of today's final round, fell by seven shots to the pressure of playing in the final group with the new King of the Swing.

Despite several pauses at 18, due to spectator cameras, Tiger lagged a forty foot putt up to two feet to give Luke the stage to grab a piece of second place. Despite not getting a birdie all day long, Luke parred out on 18 for a two over 74, to share third with Sergio Garcia and Adam Scott. Tiger sunk his putt to secure his 12th Major Championship — at the age of 30.

Could 24 Majors be in his future by his 40th birthday? Only time will tell.

Tiger Woods Wins 50th
Another clinic was put on by Tiger the over the previous four days, at the Buick Open. Woods shot a six-under 66 on Thursday's opening round, and followed it up with another 66 on Friday. Saturday, he shot 66 yet again — guess what he shot on Sunday?

Another 66.

With this win at 30 years of age, Tiger has become the youngest player to win 50 tournaments, eclipsing the 33 years it took Jack Nicklaus to win 50. Tiger's on the prowl, with a goal targeting the most wins in a career. One more ties him for sixth-most with Billy Casper at 51 wins. Two more wins will tie him for fifth with Byron Nelson at 52 career wins. Fourth is ten more wins ahead, held by Arnie, at 62. Ben Hogan has 64, then Nicklaus in second with 73. The winningest player of all time is Slamming Sammy Snead, with 82 career wins.

If Woods can continue winning 50 tournaments every 10 years, Tiger will pass Snead before turning 40. Wouldn't that be a sight to behold!
